Running store now open in Gibsons!
The Sunshine Coast now has a running store! Larry and Teresa have just opened PaceSetter Athletic on Hough Road (the Holy Crap building). The store has a wide selection of footwear (more arriving regularly) and will soon also have clothing and accessories — for running, walking, hiking, and other endurance activities. We will also be hosting Learn to Run and Run Faster clinics, plus a year-round run club, and a local race series. Website coming very soon to pacesetterathletic.ca (subscribe there to keep up to date on what's happening). Grand Opening Celebration, including a 5k Run, will be announced shortly!
Volunteers needed for club events
Our races can't happen without the help of amazing volunteers like you! Club members who volunteer will earn a free race entry to another SCA event.
Race Results & Reports
Four Lakes 10k & 3k, August 7, Garden Bay
No sunshine but a record turnout of 56 in the 10k and 32 in the 3k! Nice cool calm conditions for racing. Congrats to Jordan Wilson of Sechelt for the overall win and Emily Young from Saskatoon for topping the women's field. Full results
Sea Cavalcade Mile, July 23, Gibsons
The new course was well-received and had the advantage of starting within the parade route with many spectators lining the highway for the start and first 100m. Weather was perfect and there were more kids than ever this year! Next year we'll definitely be splitting up the 9 and Under age group in to 6 and Under and 7-9. Our top 3 females were all in the 10-12 age group! Congrats to overall winner Jordan Wilson, running exactly the same time as last year's winner, 4:40; and to Bridget Graham, first female in 6:23. Full results and photos are here.
Halfmoon Bay Trophy Run, July 10

Larry took off right away; Alex and Teresa ran together for a while, then Teresa pulled ahead during the second half, to be nipped at the line by a fast-charging Alex (as usual)! Results below.

2. Alex Nightingale 24:17
3. Teresa Nightingale 24:18
4. Geoff Bevan 25:55
